Help shape the future

WINGS For Life is a non-profit organization. Although much of our funding comes from our partnership with the Texas Youth Commission, we rely on the community's support to provide the kind of program that will be most beneficial to the young mothers we serve. As a contract facility of the Texas Youth Commission we receive funding for the youth we serve, which provides for the basic program components of our facility. However, the cost of providing for the children of these young mothers is the responsibility of WINGS For Life. Without the support of the greater community WINGS For Life would not be able to provide the opportunity for these young mothers to be united with their children where they can learn the skills of parenthood in a safe and caring environment for both mother and child - skills which will help to secure a better future for them and the communities they return to as more productive citizens. But community support is not limited to financial support. We also rely on those who volunteer their time and energies in a variety of ways.

What Can I Do?

Mentor/Volunteer

Here at the WINGS, our girls need mentors for a support system. Some of us don’t have a family or anyone to support us and we feel alone. But by you and the people out in the community volunteering their time to spend their days with us, would mean a great deal of happiness to us.
Being a mentor requires-----
§ A minimum of 1-hour visit a month, but arrangements can be made to come more often, if you may wish.
§ Passing a minimal background screen

Or, you can volunteer to do groups such as, do arts and crafts, sewing class, planting, self esteem group, planting and prepare us for the community groups. These kinds of groups can help us learn more. For more information or any questions you may have, please contact---

The WINGS For Life Board of Trustees plays a vital role is our success. Those who serve on the board are dedicated individuals who believe in the mission and vision of WINGS For Life and AMI. The Board members are all volunteers who commit their time, talents, and finances to work for a brighter future for these young mothers and their children by promoting the work we do in the community.
